That is what Passport was about too. But Microsoft seems to understand that they will never be able to make Passport universal. They are playing nicely. They are working with the industry. So is IBM.
Will Microsoft and IBM get credit for that? Not likely. But while the rest of the world is whining about lack of fairness, Microsoft and IBM are doing real work that will make my life easier.
